Details
Established in the 1970s, Animas View Cooperative is a resident-owned manufactured home community in Durango, CO, featuring 120 sites and allowing tiny houses on wheels. The community achieved resident ownership with assistance from Thistle ROC and ROC USA, LLC, officially taking control on June 21, 2021. Animas View was the first community to take advantage of a new Colorado law that enables residents to buy their park. Currently, nearly $3 million is being invested in deferred maintenance, including upgrades to water/sewer systems and park roads, with plans to introduce fiber optic services as well. Managed by an elected Board of Directors, the cooperative follows a member-driven model to ensure all decisions benefit its residents. Located three miles from downtown Durango and close to various outdoor activities, Animas View is ideal for those who love adventure. The community provides convenient access to the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Purgatory Ski Resort, and the Animas River Trail. Family and pet-friendly, Animas View is near Fort Lewis College and hosts local events. The cooperative spirit shines as residents take part in neighborhood projects, fostering a supportive and connected community.
