Orlando Lakefront

Orlando Florida, United States

Details

Orlando Lakefront at College Park is a growing tiny house community (THC), revitalizing a 1950s RV park that welcomes tiny housers to park legally and enjoy the tiny life. It offers a solution to a key obstacle for those living tiny: "Where do I park my tiny house?" At Orlando Lakefront, residents can legally park their tiny houses on wheels among fellow tiny housers, enjoying full hook-ups to park utilities.

Reflective of the spirit of the tiny house social movement, Orlando Lakefront is a grassroots effort to organically grow a tiny house community. Currently, the park has 15 Tiny Houses on Wheels (THOWs) and 2 tiny houses on foundations, totaling 21 tiny houses and counting. Tiny housers (THers) are welcome to join the community and help build a supportive environment as they embrace the tiny lifestyle.

The RV park's owner and residents believe in the moral growth of the community. Instead of asking RV neighbors to leave or drastically increasing lot leases, they are growing organically. As RVs leave, available lots are offered to tiny housers who wish to legally park, live by the lake, and enjoy the amenities of a nearby metropolitan area. This tiny house community model is both sustainable and ethical.

Orlando Lakefront at College Park has 50 lease spaces available, some shaded, some sunny, and others just steps from the lake. Residents are encouraged to bring boats, paddleboards, and kayaks to enjoy Lake Fairview. The park is only seven minutes from downtown Orlando and 20 minutes from various attractions and theme parks. The surrounding College Park neighborhood offers a variety of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, providing a perfect blend of community and leisure.

Amenities include a boat dock, a fishing dock, a laundromat, and a green park right on the lakefront for tiny house pets. Lot leases are reasonably priced, ranging from $350 to $550 per month, depending on location within the park. While residents live in the community, the length of stay is flexible with nightly and weekly rates available for those on the road. After all, they are on wheels!
